Elder James Johnson III       Founder and CEO


A Veteran Soldier- A Public Servant- A Minister and Man of God

 

Elder James Johnson, III hails from the bright City of North Charleston. He is a passionate and tireless civil rights advocate, and a sage, whose wisdom is informed by an impressive combination of professional and educational experiences. Elder Johnson is a veteran, having served for four years in the Marine Corp, and after touring in Italy, France, Turkey, Spain and the Rock of Gibraltar, was honorably discharged.

He continued to carry out his mandate to serve the community of North Charleston as an Engineer leading the city’s fire department, while at the same time, earning a B.A. in Business Administration, from Rice Business College. Elder Johnson successfully transitioned to private industry, founding and managing a trucking business, as well as an international trading company. He also delved into marketing and selling legal insurance.

Elder Johnson became an ordained Minister in 1998, and has served as a Pastor of three different churches.

Elder James Johnson, III has likewise garnered meaningful experiences serving in leadership positions for prominent civil rights organizations, for more than forty years. He initiated his career in the civil rights arena, by establishing and directing South Carolina’s state chapter of Rainbow PUSH. He then went on to serve as President of South Carolina’s state chapter of National Action Network. Elder Johnson also served as Chairman of the Board for a local chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). His many years of service culminated in the founding of the Racial Justice Network, in 2020. 

As Founder and CEO of Racial Justice Network Elder Johnson’s vision is the ultimate goal of tackling and dismantling unethical and illegal strongholds, and problematic mindsets, which unduly limit the maturation and prosperity of the black community.
